TERMS & CONDITIONS

By visiting this website and/or purchasing any of the items or services you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”), including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/ or contributors of content.
If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the website or use any services.
Any new features or tools which are added to the current store shall also be subject to the Terms of Service. You can review the most current version of the Terms of Service at any time on this page. We reserve the right to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and/or changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
Our store is hosted on Wix.com Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Service, use of the Service, or access to the Service or any contact on the website through which the service is provided, without express written permission by us.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

1. WORKSHOPS

Please read carefully!

By booking any of the workshops you agree to the below Terms & Conditions and release Beata Ostrowska (tutor and owner of Bea Odd Creations) of all liability, costs, and damages which could arise from taking part in the booked activity. You agree to accept all responsibility for anything that should happen during the booked time and that you take part of your own free will.

1.1 Animals

 

Participants are not permitted to bring their own dead animals to the class.

All animals are ethically sourced and were not killed specifically for the workshops

Mice used for these workshops come from carefully selected suppliers and have been bred as reptile feeders.

1.2 Booking

All workshops must be booked and paid for in full.

1.3 Restrictions

2 Day Taxidermy Workshop: Any person/s attending this workshop must be 18 years of age or over, please bring a valid photo ID with you. I you fail to do that, you might be refused without a refund.

1 Day Workshop: Any person/s attending this workshop that is under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult who will also be required to stay for the duration of the workshop and pay in full. I you fail to do that, you might be refused without a refund.

No matter which workshop you choose there will be minimal blood and gore.

Taxidermy is not for everyone so please think carefully before booking. No refund will be given if you change your mind during the workshop.

1.4 Liability

 

While no dangerous chemicals are used during the taxidermy workshops if you are pregnant or suffer from any medical condition, please refer to your doctor for advice on whether you should take part. A full list of chemicals used is available upon request.

During the workshops, you will need to use some sharp tools and adhesives/chemicals that if used inappropriately could cause harm or damage to yourself or your belongings. 

 

1.5 Parking and Access

Parking - available on the residential street payable by PayByPhone, (make sure you are in a pay-and-display zone & not in a permit-only zone though).

 

Trains - Preston Park train station is 2 mins walk around the corner and only one stop from Brighton train station.

Unfortunately, there is no step-free access to the workshop at this time. Please contact me for details before booking if required.

1.6 Cancellation and Rescheduling

CANCELLATIONS: 
 

 Please be advised that due to being a small business with limited spaces any cancellations will incur a minimum admin charge of £20.

- If for any reason you wish to cancel within 24 hours after you booked a workshop the aforementioned £20 admin fee will be deducted from your refund.
- For cancellations up to 14 days before the workshop 70% of the amount paid will be refunded.
- No refund will be given for cancellation in less than 14 days before the booking or if fail to attend the workshop; if I can accomodate it, rescheduling might be possible but will be subject to £50 re-booking fee.
- Any refunds will only be issued to the original payment method; bookings paid with gift card will not be refunded.

- You may transfer the booking to another name, subject to Terms&Conditions.

RESCHEDULING:  

I understand that sometimes life happens and if you need to reschedule your booking please do let me know in no less than 7 days before the booked workshop. 


- If you need to reschedule please let me know in no less than 7 days before the booked date
- Rescheduling in less than 7 days before the workshop will incur a re-booking fee of £50
- Booking can be rescheduled to another date within 2 months from the initially booked workshop; any extension on this time period or rescheduling more than once are subject to my sole discretion.
- You may transfer the booking to another name, subject to Terms&Conditions.

If for any reason I am unable to run the workshops you will be refunded in full.


 

2.  SHOP

2.1 Returns and Cancellations

I accept cancellations within 12 hours of the order being placed. After that time I have usually started working on your item and cancellation is not possible.

Due to the nature of the items sold, I cannot offer returns.

Exceptions may be made at my own discretion. Any refund offered is subject to a deduction of the costs incurred to process and ship the item.

2.2 Shipping

Please be aware that my items are made to order and unless otherwise specified take up to 4-5 weeks to process before they are ready to be posted.

All orders will be wrapped securely and sent using tracked service. 

  • Orders within the UK will be posted with Royal Mail and will usually take 2-3 business days to be delivered.
     

  • Orders to US, Canada, and Europe will be posted with UPS and will usually take 5-10 business days to be delivered.
     

  • Orders to Australia, New Zealand, and the rest of the world will be posted with UPS and will usually take 10-20 days to be delivered
     

Please be advised that while I always try to choose the most reliable and secure delivery options delays in transit do happen and I cannot take responsibility for third party and custom's delays.

If you prefer to use a different shipping company please contact me before placing the order to check if this is available and if it affects the shipping price.

1.3 Tax and custom's fees

Information for the customers outside United Kingdom:

While I am happy to send orders overseas, please be aware that your order might be subject to custom's fees and/or tax that are regulated by the local government and out of my control.

3 GIFT CARDS

Gift cards are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase, unless stated otherwise.

Gift cards can be only redeemed online by entering the unique card code at the checkout. Please, do not share this code with anyone else. The card and/or code will not be replaced if lost or stolen.

Gift cards are non-refundable, non-transferable, and must be redeemed by the expiry date without exception. No change will be given when using a gift card to settle your account. Workshop bookings are subject to availability and terms and conditions as stated in section 1. Please note that vouchers cannot be used as payment to purchase other vouchers. Customer is responsible for observing the expiry date.

 

4  PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including payment gateways or any third party service providers you access through this site. I recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

4.1  Information I Collect

To fulfill your order, you must provide me with certain information, such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom piece of taxidermy, for example), if you contact me directly.
If I ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, I will either ask you directly for your expressed consent or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

4.2  Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfill your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;
if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; 
and as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; 

4.3  Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal processes or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.


4.4  Security

My website and shop are hosted on Wix.com Inc. They are the provider of the online e-commerce platform that allows me to sell my products and services to you.
Your data is stored on their secure server.
The transmission of sensitive payment information (such as a credit card number) through their designated purchase forms is protected by an industry standard SSL/TLS encrypted connection; and they regularly maintain a PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) certification. They also regularly monitor the systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks and regularly seek new ways and Third Party Services for further enhancing the security of their Services and protection of their Visitors’ and Users’ privacy.

4.5  Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.


4.6  Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the UK and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.


4.7  Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
Change, restrict, delete. You may also have the right to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
